NFA and CFTC Futures Organizations
I think I forgot everything I knew…. But some of it is coming back to me slowly.
When your looking for a futures broker you need to know about a couple websites:
nfa.futures.org National Futures Association will give you information on brokers, and handle disputes.
cftc.gov Commodity Futures Trading commission is a government organization that will give you information on the laws and data that is reported to them.
I think one of these will give you information on clearing firms but I can’t remember which one.
A clearing firm in case you don’t know is the company who actually holds your money and processes your trades. This way brokers can come and go but your money will be safe, its better for the whole industry this way since people don’t lose their money.
Except by bad trading. (
