Futures Brokes does a good job

I had an order to buy cotton at 54.05 so that incase it bounced off 54.00 I would still get filled and not be at the back of the line missing my fill.

The market went to 54.00 but I noticed that I didn’t get a statement from my broker that evening like I usually do, the next day when I got online and looked in my account it showed the cotton contract being in there as of today when I should have bought it yesterday.

With futures trading a lot of things can go wrong, since these are traded in an open pit, it’s usually not that big of a deal but you need to keep track of it.

I sent an email to my broker and asked what had happened and he said there was some trouble with my order yesterday, and I was afraid that the market was going to go up and I would not get my cotton contract because someone else would not want to give it up.

But I got my statement today and they bought me one the next day at a higher price and then credited my account with $200 the difference between where they bought it the next morning and where I had my order in the day before.

I didn’t even have to ask them to do this, they just did it automatically (before I even sent the email asking about it.) So I am pretty happy with the service from my futures broker, at least about this trade anyway.
