Milk Futures Are Up Today

I started a scale in milk several months ago, but I have never traded it before and I am not sure about how it trades as far as roll overs and such. So I only bought 3 contracts.

Milk futures made a small move up and I sold one contract, then it kept going up and I told the 2nd one. Then it didn’t do a whole lot for a few months and I was starting to worry about my last contract since December is not that far away. I bought the milk futures in May and I bought December contracts.

My last sell order was in at 1333 and I have thought about lowering it a couple of times just to get out and not have to do the roll over. Today I was thinking if it was close to the high I might just cancel my sell order and put in a market sell and get out.

My 1333 sell order is looking very good. From where I got in back in May that’s about a $2,800.00 profit, which I am very happy with.

Someone asked me how I was able to pick 1333 as the sell price. I really wanted to say

“Oh, I do that all the time”

But the truth is that is happens once in a while when your scale trading, but not as often as I would like.

When it does happen it’s very nice, and $2,800 profit in a trade is a nice payday for me.

With some luck from the futures market gods I will get a lot more trades like this one in my future.
